We need growth. Miami-Dade County has unacceptably high unemployment and underemployment and -- employed or not -- everybody's quality of life suffers as a result. We need a state government that promotes real economic opportunity by maintaining a stable and open business environment, investing appropriately in infrastructure, cutting needless regulations, and recruiting human and financial capital with innovative policy. The goal should be to attract careers, not just paychecks, for Florida residents. So I'll focus on the things government can do to attract high-value employers (especially in science and engineering) and work to get it out of businesses' way when it's holding back entrepreneurialism. I will work to make sure that our ports, infrastructure, and tax environment are globally competitive. I understand that education and immigration are human resources issues, and I will work tirelessly to make sure there's no better place to do business than our community
