Issues: Unemployed and Low-Income Entitlements and the Safety Net Health Insurance

* I believe we have a moral duty to protect children, struggling seniors and Americans with disabilities. I also believe our nation is strong enough and smart enough to do that without bankrupting itself, but we have to make better choices. I oppose the punishing legislation Congresswoman Jenkins has repeatedly endorsed. This legislation would slash Medicaid and jeopardize nursing home care for 2,800 Kansans in the 2nd District. This legislation would threaten healthcare for 48,000 poor children, including 2,200 newborns each year, in the district.
