SENATOR COLLINS' STATEMENT ON CONDOLEEZZA RICE NOMINATION
Washington, DC - Following the announcement today that President Bush has nominated Condoleezza Rice as Secretary of State, Senator Susan Collins released the following statement:
"President Bush has made a very good choice in Condoleezza Rice as the nominee for the new Secretary of State. She has led the President's national security team with strength and expertise. Her extensive foreign-policy experience will serve her well as Secretary of State.
"I have had the honor of working closely with Dr. Rice on many occasions over the past four years, and I look forward to working with her in the future."
