Statement

In effort to provide temporary relief from this disaster, The House of Representatives recently passed H.R. 6233: Agricultural Disaster Assistance Act of 2012. The bill would provide $383 million in emergency assistance for farmers, ranchers and orchardists in response to various natural disasters. This bill is not a long term plan for the agricultural community, but does offer temporary relief, until a well constructed long term Farm Bill can be completed. I know that my colleagues and I will be working hard this September to make sure that happens.
