Raised financial aid for students by over $80 million.
Allowed expenses related to school safety, transportation, and energy efficiency to be exempt from public schools' spending limits.
Opposed efforts that took money from public schools for private school voucher programs.
Fought against Scott Walker's education cuts during the 2009 recession.
Defended pay incentives for teachers who seek advanced degrees.
Supported collective bargaining for faculty, staff and teaching assistance at UW schools.

Pass the Safe Schools Improvement Act (SSIA) and the Student Non-Discrimination Act (SNDA) to ensure that all students are afforded a safe and supportive learning environment.
Support programs that invest in our teachers and responsibly turn around low-performing schools.
Support Pell Grant and student loan expansion and reform, so that all students have equal access to higher education without burdensome debt after graduation.
Support strong implementation of Title IX, which protects women and girls from discrimination and harassment in our nation's schools.
Support sustained grants for research at the University of Wisconsin.
