Protect the Constitution: Eat More Chicken!

Statement

Date: Aug. 10, 2012

of the many reasons I love North Georgia is the ability to witness daily displays of Christian values and Christian principles. I was lucky to witness one of those displays just this afternoon at a Chick-fil-A in Habersham County.

As I have said for years on my radio program, the sanctity of marriage in this country is under attack and we need a Federal Marriage Amendment. Recently, a good, hardworking, Christian businessman exercised his First Amendment rights protected fully by the U.S. Constitution. He said he thought marriage should be between a man and a woman.

For this statement, liberal groups have gathered together in an attempt to tear down the business built by Dan Cathy's family right here in Georgia -- Chick-fil-A. But today, instead of watching liberals oppose Dan Cathy's right to free speech and his freedom of religion, I was among millions of Conservatives and Constitutionalists across the country who decided to eat lunch at one of his restaurants.

In Habersham County, I arrived to a long line of cars stretching from the drive-thru window out to the main road. A line of people stood outside the building, waiting to get in. I ate lunch with about 300 people -- not counting those who arrived before me and those who picked up their food at the window.

What a great way to show the liberal elite that we will not let them bend the Constitution to fit their agenda. I always have to wonder why liberals are so concerned about political correctness that they are willing to stomp on the Constitution and attack a successful Georgia business like Chick-fil-A.

To help spread my Conservative, Constitutionalist message and send me to Congress, please consider donating $250, $100 or $25 to my campaign.

Don't forget to vote in the Aug. 21 runoff election. Our country depends on it.

Martha
