Issues: Infrastructure

In a time where cookie-cutter strip malls and suburban sprawl are flooding the country, the very character of our towns is under threat. Our farms, our open spaces and our main streets are valuable, irreplaceable resources. If we lose them, we will never get them back.

Matt Lesser has been a fighter to protect open space. He studied the negative consequences of sprawl at the Brookings Institution, campaigned on a platform of open space preservation when he ran for Middletown Planning and Zoning Commission, campaigned to pass an open space bonding referendum and has fought against plans to develop the heart of the largest contiguous forest left on the lower Connecticut River.

On the State level, Matt Lesser will work to protect the character of our towns, fighting to make sure our municipalities have the resources they need to promote responsible development.
