Issue Position

Our federal government's primary responsibility is to defend the security of our nation, and that requires a military that is second to none. I strongly support our men and women in the armed forces and the veterans who have bravely served our nation. I am proud to represent Luke Air Force Base and look forward to representing the men and women of the Marine Corps Air Station and the Yuma Proving Ground. Luke Air Force Base supports more than 70,000 members and retirees and employs over 6,400 Arizonans. The Yuma Proving Ground is the largest employer in Yuma County and is the largest consumer of local goods and services. In addition to the obvious benefit to our national security, these military installations have an incredibly positive economic impact on Arizona, totaling in the billions. I am proud to have spoken alongside Congressman Trent Franks in favor of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter coming to Luke AFB and will continue to voice my support for our military personnel and their families.
