President Signs Emergency Disaster Declaration for Alabama
Anniston, Alabama - Congressman Mike Rogers made the following remarks today following President Bush's disaster declaration for the state of Alabama:

"I appreciate President Bush for acting quickly to bring federal disaster aid to the citizens, businesses and farmers of Alabama. His response to this disaster has been swift, and I very much appreciate his leadership in opening the path for federal aid.

"Third District farmers will face an uphill battle against this massive storm and its aftermath, and many Alabamians could face severe utility outages for days, or even weeks.

"Given Ivan's size and power, we must remain vigilant. I can only hope the federal aid made available today will be sufficient in our recovery efforts, and pray that our citizens continue to be safe from the fallout of this dangerous natural disaster."
