Rising property taxes, license registration fees, and prescription drug costs threaten the independence and security of senior citizens living on a fixed income.
To help seniors in need, Crespo voted to increase property tax assistance (House Bill 664, passed House) and helped pass legislation to increase energy assistance programs for low-income senior citizens (Senate Bill 175, signed into law). Crespo also fought to keep criminals away from vulnerable nursing home residents by requiring background checks for all employees of licensed or certified long-term care facilities.
