Issue Position

Fair and efficient funding of public education is a requirement of the Texas Constitution. The Court added equitable. The quality of the education we provide our children will determine the future of our communities, our state and our nation. We must retain quality teachers and strong curriculum in our public school system. I am in favor of addressing the main problem -- and that is the funding formulas used in Public Education. Before an in-depth discussion of cuts can occur, we must first look at where our money is currently going. Once these formulas are simplified, we can move to a solution quicker.
