Issue Position

Quite simply, I believe the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution means what it says. People have a right to keep and bear arms. I further believe this was placed into our Constitution to allow the citizenry to protect themselves from their own government. If our government ever seizes our arms, or prohibits us from possessing them within Constitutional guidelines, we will truly be defenseless against tyranny. Our Founding Fathers recognized this and placed the Second Amendment into the Bill of Rights to prevent this from ever happening. I believe our right to keep and bear arms will come under attack from the judicial branch; from judges who wish to make law not interpret it. With my legal background, I will work to select judges who believe, as I do, that judges should interpret the law, not make the law.
