As a member of the Connecticut General Assembly I was a vocal proponent of HB 7395, the law that codified marriage equality in the state. I voted in favor of that law on April 12, 2007, making Connecticut's legislature the third in United States history to vote in favor of same-sex marriage. I am fiercely proud of that vote, and when elected I will fight to bring marriage equality to the entire country.
As your Senator, I will:
Fight to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and ensure that legal same-sex marriages in states like ours will be federally recognized.
Support legislation that grants marriage equality to every resident of the United States.
Support legislation that ensures equal treatment under the law regardless of sexual orientation, be it in school or the workplace.
