Susan on Foreign Affairs

A better solution for Afghanistan: Susan believes that we need a counter terrorism strategy in Afghanistan and Pakistan to deal with serious threats to our national security. That will allow us to stop funding corrupt regimes and reinvest in infrastructure, energy independence and job creation.

Responsible decisions for Iraq: Susan believes it is critical to follow the U.S.-Iraqi agreement and remove all troops as soon as safely possible. Our troops have done everything asked of them and more and deserve our continued support when they return home.

Prevent a nuclear Iran: Susan believes Iran is a serious potential threat to Israel, the region and our national security. Iran must not be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon. She believes we must strengthen sanctions and allow them time to work.

Unwavering support for Democracy The U.S. and Israel share a special relationship that is based upon their shared commitment to the values of freedom, democracy and human rights. A strong U.S.-Israel relationship is vital to America's national security interests and helping to spread democracy in the Middle East.

Support our Naval Submarine Base in New London: Susan believes that this is critical both for Connecticut's economic future and our countries national security. Susan will fight to keep construction and maintenance contracts in the hands of the best trained workers in the world.
