Issue Position: Immigration

We are a nation of immigrants. Even today, we immigrate more people than the rest of the world combined. However, we realize we can't allow all people to become Americans. We have immigration rules and we enforce them.

The larger issue, and what I believe is the biggest domestic problem we face, is one of illegal immigration. No issue is more tied to our national security discussions than immigration -- not to mention the billions of dollars in health care delivery and public education it costs us each year. The Mexican government is close to collapse. We first must secure our borders and then use the resources we have to be able to deal with illegal immigrants in this country.
