Stutzman Praises Right-to-Work Law

Statement

Date: Feb. 1, 2012
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Labor Unions

Today, following the enactment of Indiana's new Right-to-Work law, Congressman Marlin Stutzman (IN-03) issued the following statement:

"This administration's failed economic policies are making things more difficult for everyone," said Stutzman. "But, unlike the President, Hoosiers know business and took a bold step to welcome new opportunities. The Crossroads of America is now the only Right-to-Work state in the manufacturing belt. This legislation makes our state more attractive for business investment. I'm proud that Hoosiers are leading the nation. Washington should emulate Indiana's success."

On the federal level, Congressman Stutzman, who represents a district with strong ties to manufacturing, has co-sponsored H.R. 2145. The legislation promotes individual decision-making by prohibiting federal agencies from automatically deducting union dues from the paychecks of federal employees.
