Duffy Supports REINS Act

Press Release

Date: Dec. 7, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Representative Sean Duffy (R-07) today voted in support of H.R. 10 the Regulations from the Executives in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act. Rep. Duffy is a co-sponsor of this bill. This legislation requires congressional approval for any federal regulation with an economic impact of $100 million or more.

"Job creators all across the 7th district tell me that over-regulation is creating uncertainty and hampering their ability to create jobs. Yet, it seems every time some bureaucrat in Washington sneezes, we lose more Wisconsin jobs. If we continue to ignore this problem of over-regulation, we will see increased job loss and families and workers continue to suffer," Duffy said. "The rules Washington bureaucrats are implementing go around Congress' authority, and it must stop. The REINS Act takes a strong step toward restoring accountability and putting the authority to impose regulations back into the hands of those accountable to the people, rather than unelected bureaucrats."
