Rep. Tim Scott(SC-01) issued the following statement regarding the Super Committee's announcement earlier today:
"While I am disappointed in today's announcement, the failure of the Super Committee comes as no surprise. I voted against this arrangement from the beginning, as it was unrealistic to believe a group a 12 members could solve our problems when 535 could not.
There is no doubt tough decisions will have to be made to restore a sense of fiscal sanity to Washington. We must simply roll up our sleeves and start making those decisions.
Today marks the end of the Super Committee, but hopefully a new beginning for finding solutions. I will continue working with my colleagues to find smart, sensible ways to reduce spending without placing burdens on our job creators and current seniors. We have no other choice."
