Senator Richard Blumenthal released the following statement this afternoon in response to the announcement of Connecticut Light and Power (CL&P) CEO Jeffrey Butler's resignation:

"This first step is one of many significant measures necessary to remedy CL&P's failed system and restore public trust. I will continue to fight for systemic reforms that are necessary to ensure a reliable energy supply for Connecticut residents -- including more crews sooner and better deployed during outages, and heightened preparation for storms."
