Transportation: Driving our Economy
* Residents of Fairfax County want to spend more time with their families and less time in stuck in their cars. And businesses need to know that our infrastructure will support future growth and jobs. This issue is too important to be caught up in political gridlock.
* Improving transportation in Northern Virginia is and always has been a priority of mine. As a member of the Transportation Committee, I will keep working to make our roads, rails and buses safer and more accessible.
Transportation: Record fighting for Fairfax County Commuters and Taxpayers
* Worked across party lines to support the Governor's 2011 transportation plan - and will continue to work with both parties for long term solutions.
* Proposed legislation to prioritize new road Transportation funds in Northern Virginia to ensure that Fairfax County and Northern Virginia would receive funding that corresponds to our needs and our greater contribution to the State revenues.
Transportation: Fairfax in the Fastlane - The Future of Fairfax Transportation
* The General Assembly needs to adopt a double lockbox policy to protect resources for both transportation and education. Assuring that the State's transportation funds are only used for transportation and the State's General Funds are only used for general expenditures like education will fairly and adequately fund both.
* We need to fix the Route 28 and Highway 66 interchange.
* We need separated grade intersections on the Fairfax County Parkway.
* Although we now have ongoing audits of VDOT, oversight is critical to make sure our tax dollars are not being wasted.
* We also need to make sure VDOT is meeting Northern Virginia's needs. We need a strong Senator to ensure VDOT serves the needs of commuters and never becomes a dumping ground for unqualified political patronage jobs.
