Lankford Statement on September 11th Anniversary

Statement

Congressman James Lankford (R-OK) issued the following statement in remembrance of the 10th Anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks.

"That fateful day forever changed our nation," said Congressman Lankford. "My thoughts and prayers continue to be with those who lost their loved ones. I will forever be proud of how we responded to this tragedy as a nation. The brave and selfless efforts of the first responders and everyday heroes show the enduring strength and commitment of our country in the face of extreme adversity.

"The people of Oklahoma stand with the communities of New York, Washington, D.C., Shanksville, PA, and the families around the nation who remember all those lost. As communities affected by the harsh reality of terrorism, we find solace and comfort in standing together.

"Ten years later, our union is strong. The will of the American people is not broken, as we fight everyday for a stronger nation and safer world. We continue to face threats, and we must remain vigilant at all times. It is vital that we continue to support our military, security, and intelligence communities who have shown great commitment and skill to protect our country. I honor the sacrifices they make every day to guard our freedom."
