DeLauro Statement on Bayer Alliance with Schering-Plough

WASHINGTON - Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (Conn.-3) today issued the following statement upon learning that Bayer announced a strategic alliance with Schering-Plough Corporation. Bayer has a research center in West Haven, Connecticut.

"I intend to work with company, state and local officials to ensure the smooth transition of employees whose jobs will be affected by the alliance created between Bayer and Schering-Plough.

"This new partnership allows the companies to remain competitive in the pharmaceutical industry while bringing developments in oncology and specialty pharmaceuticals to West Haven."
