Today Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen released the following statement honoring Labor Day:

"This Labor Day we take time to honor and celebrate the hard-working men and women of our country. It is their determination and innovation that has made America the great country it is. We must protect their right to organize to fight for things like fair wages and safe working conditions, which is increasingly coming under assault. We also mark this day with a recommitment to helping those who are still struggling to find jobs and make ends meet -- putting America back to work is the best way to rebuild our economy in the short-term and reduce our deficit in the long-term."
