Ellison Statement on the Terrorist Attack in Norway

My heart goes out to the people of Norway who have suffered a tremendous and senseless tragedy. My constituents and I find such merciless violence appalling.

"The attack hits home because many of my constituents are of Norwegian descent. I am a member of the Friends of Norway Caucus and received a warm welcome in the country when I visited in 2008.

"Reports that the "threat" of multiculturalism and Muslim immigration motivated the suspect are particularly troubling. I pray that the families and friends of the victims can somehow find solace in the days and years ahead."
