REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE AT EASE IN FRONT OF CAMERAS
"This was another great opportunity to talk about the issues that matter: particularly cutting spending, the economy and not raising taxes. Even Walt Minnick agreed new Republican leadership is needed in Washington and that's why the people of Idaho will elect me to Congress," says Raul Labrador
Praise for another victorious debate rolled in tonight for Republican congressional candidate Raul Labrador. He and his Democrat opponent sparred and at times landed blows, but the consensus was Raul Labrador landed most of them and thus won with ease.
The debate was marked by repeated attempts on the part of Labrador to return to the issues that mattered most to the people of Idaho and America--spending, the economy and taxes. Labrador time and again pointed out contradictions in Minnick's voting record and positions, and Minnick's pandering on secondary issues.
Labrador demanded an end to the distortions of his record and chided his Democrat opponent for only admitting Minnick's ads were only accused of taking Labrador's quotes out of context, rather than being the outright fabrications they actually are.
Minnick struggled to explain his repeated assertions, highlighted in both the Lewiston Tribune and to the Boise Young Professionals that he considered the illegal crossing of the US border as no worse an infraction than receiving a speeding ticket in a school zone.

Comments from Other Elected Leaders on the Debate
Idaho Speaker of the House of Representatives offered his appraisal of Labrador's performance: "Raul's performance tonight was much as I expected. He was on top of his game in every respect and to me was far and away the victor in this debate. Idaho needs his youthful energy in Congress."
State Representative Cliff Bayer, "This debate clearly demonstrated Raul's dynamic personality, comprehensive understanding of the issues and the enthusiasm required to serve the people of Idaho and America. Idaho will be well-served with Raul Labrador in Congress."
Senator Chuck Winder, "Like Governor Phil Batt, I believe this election is so important to our state and country. I know that voters watching this debate, as I did on television, will have seen what I saw: a young man dedicated to the future of children and grandchildren. I'm so proud of Raul's performance tonight."
State Representative Marv Hagedorn, "This debate sealed the deal. The people of Idaho, like me, will feel good knowing the new man we send to Congress is a Republican who has experience balancing difficult budgets and has principled, informed opinions on immigration."
