Issue Position

What I Stand For and What I Want to Accomplish

Improving the job market in RI by developing businesses of all sizes.

Offering tax incentives for businesses to stay in or relocate to RI.

I will call for Senate hearings to determine where $75M dollars of receipts from RI Resource Recovery went. THE PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW ........Where did the money go ?????

Lowering taxes for the average citizen.

I'm pro-family. I have been married for 28 years and have 2 grown children that I have raised here in Johnston.

I will continue to support causes and issues important to our elderly. This includes RIPEA, and turning around the five year "Look Back" clause for long term health care. Citizens should not be forced to liquidate their home and savings to pay for nursing home care while others take advantage of loopholes in the medicaid system.

I want to explore developing enterprise zones here in Johnston where businesses who employ
people can thrive.

I will introduce legislation to repeal the income tax on Social Security benefits for those who earn over $25,000 dollars in additional income after retirement. Rhode Island is one of only five states in the country that penalize our senior citizens for planning ahead or working a part time job.

I want to forge a partnertship between the Quonset Point Industrial Center and the Resource Recovery Industrial Park in Johnston, utilizing our unique dedicated on /off ramp system from Rt. 295 thus leading to more jobs for Johnston.

I will co-sponsor or introduce a bill to make E-Verify a mandatory prerequisite for employment in RI. At present our state deficit of 400 Million dollars can be wiped out by forcing those who receive benefits through welfare, food stamps and medicaid to produce proper immigration documentation through E-Verify.

I will support Transparancy in Government such as making Senate bills available on the internet in their final form five days before the vote is taken. In that way, citizens can examine these bills before they become law. Further, legislative voting records should be posted immediately after the vote.

I want to help improve our educational system and explore regionalization of services for school systems. Our Children have only one chance at a quality education. I WANT TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN !

I will introduce legislation to allow disabbled RI vetrans to cross the Newport-Pell Bridge free of charge. These men and women have already paid the price !

I will seek to lower Taxes and fees for businesses of all sizes so that they can afford to employ more people and grow our economy.

Smaller Government with greater accountability

An alternative to the existing landfill using the latest technology to manage waste. We must have a plan for the future instead of just piling garbage up in Johnston.

Separation of Powers so that the power of government no longer lies in the hands of one person, The Speaker of the House, whome 99% of Rhode Islanders
