Issue Position

For residents of Edina and Bloomington the inadequacy of our regional transportation system translates directly into a serious neighborhood quality of life issue as traffic spills off of congested highways and onto our local streets. We will have to pursue a comprehensive array of congestion relief strategies to solve this problem including freeway bottleneck relief, improved public transportation and the promotion of redevelopment patterns that make transit, biking and walking to work viable alternatives for more of us and improve the energy efficiency of our transportation system.
