U.S. Senate Republican nominee Marco Rubio issued the following statement regarding today's federal court ruling allowing Florida's legal challenge to ObamaCare to proceed:
"ObamaCare is a disastrous law that should be repealed and replaced, and I applaud today's ruling allowing Florida's legal challenge to move forward. The law's federal mandate is an unconstitutional and costly infringement on state sovereignty and individual freedom, and acts as a tax on individuals who don't purchase insurance. I commend Attorney General McCollum and other attorneys general around the nation for leading this effort, as well as attorney general candidates like Pam Bondi who have pledged to continue this important fight.
"Charlie Crist has been all over the map on ObamaCare, but one thing is clear -- he does not support repealing the law. Congressman Kendrick Meek enthusiastically championed ObamaCare and fought alongside Nancy Pelosi to make this the law of the land. Time and time again, Congressman Meek has shown an unhealthy willingness to go along with an agenda that threatens to cripple our nation with bigger government paid for with borrowed money. Floridians simply can't afford to send Kendrick Meek to the Senate, where he will oppose repealing this health care plan and continue being a reliable vote for the current direction that Washington is taking us."
