Jim's priorities are improving our community for working and retired families. In the Maryland Senate, he has strongly supported:
* President Obama's and Governor O'Malley's efforts to create jobs, protect senior citizens and expand health insurance for working families;
* Closing tax loopholes for big business;
* Investing in our local schools;
* Getting tough on polluters of the Chesapeake Bay;
* Fighting electric rate rate hikes;
* Improving mass transit on Metro and MARC rail lines, as well as local bus service;
* Limiting tuition increases at the University of Maryland; Keeping the TRIM cap on local property taxes;
* Banning assault weapons;
* Cracking down on Medicaid fraud;
* Balancing the state budget every year;
* Expanding solar, wind, and other renewable energy.
