Issue Position

Katherine served on the Melrose School Committee for six years, fighting to get all children a great education even with shrinking resources. She is a champion for children with special needs and won legislator of the year from Citizens for Public Schools. As a public school mom of three, Katherine knows the importance of providing a quality education to every child. In the legislature, she has been committed to fair funding for our schools, so that every child can have the resources they need to succeed, no matter what community they live in.

Early Education: A Strong Start is Important

As General Counsel for the Office of Child Care Services, Katherine worked to give our children a strong start by creating a system of high quality, accessible, early care and education. As a former prosecutor, she knows the important role government plays in protecting our families. As a legislator, she has strengthened the protections for kids against bullying and our laws against domestic violence. She has also worked to pass legislation that takes the burden off families by providing insurance
coverage for Autism treatment.
