Issue Position

The time has come when we cannot afford out of control spending. In the last 8 years, Montana's spending has grown by over 40%, yet our population hasn't grown to sustain these expenses. Due to lack of tax revenue through unemployment, and added expenses of growth and government, Montana is accruing many unfunded liabilities. Is it fair that, as a public servant, the government will without your knowledge spend on programs, only to then raise your taxes to fund them? I believe government is indebted to be wise stewards of your dollars. We need legislators who will be fiscally responsible and make the difficult decisions.
