Issue Position: Values Matter

Issue Position

In my campaigns I have repeatedly expressed the proposition that values do matter. In addition, during the last two legislative sessions, I have both sponsored and co-sponsored bills protecting the unborn, bills providing for parental notification, and bills protecting parental rights to raise their children in ways they feel appropriate.

The following are core values and stands I seek to represent in the Montana legislature on your behalf:

The right to life: This is the most sacred of all rights. No other right matters if you have been denied this right as an unborn child.

Family: The core of a civil society is family: father, mother and children. I will defend one man one woman marriage and family with every fiber of my being. Each legislative session sees bills attacking traditional family values. Last session (2007) a bill supported by Planned Parenthood sought to teach our junior high children how to have appropriate sexual relationships. I stand diametrically opposed to all such legislation.

Children: Children are our greatest gift and asset. You can count on my vote to protect children from drugs, sexual predators, and the filth and depravity that is corrupting our society.

Just Judges: The Montana Supreme Court has set aside the following laws: parental notification of their minor child who is having an abortion, the fetal pain bill giving women the option of having anesthesia for the unborn baby before it was aborted, Connor's bill which makes killing of a wanted baby by another a crime, and a partial birth abortion bill. If a court will not protect the most innocent and helpless is it moral or just? I will support laws that will allow citizens to recall judges that fail to give justice to the helpless.

Fair taxation: I believe a family benefits when they can keep more of their income. You know what is best for your children and for you. I will support tax policy that keeps property, income and energy taxes low and affordable so government takes less and you keep more.

I believe that integrity and truth are the heart of morality. No man or woman should serve in politics who does not uphold these core virtues.

Your vote is critical not just for me but for other pro life, pro family and values
candidates. Please go out and vote for them also. Much is at stake!
