Mining Industry: Over the last 10 years, I have been involved in many mining related issues. I have met with senators and congressmen, who are also in support of the mining industry and together we are working to eradicate additional tax increases that would negatively affect the mining industry. I am strongly opposed to any increase in the net proceed tax related to the mining industry in Nevada.
For many years, I have fought against the Hard Rock Mining Tax that many are trying to impliment throughout the mining industry. We must stand united as a community and as a state, or mining will be taxed out of existence and therefore cease to exist.
Clean Water Act: I have been fighting on a State and Federal level to not allow pertinent changes to the current water regulations that potentially would impact county, city, ranching and recreation water usage. In addition, for 2 consecutive years, I testified in Washington to protect the water way in the west.
Public Lands: First and foremost, I believe that all people should have access to their public land, whether it be recreation, mining or industrial use.
I introduced an emergency resolution in Washington DC to not list the sage grouse under the endangered species act, and had over 2000 constituents endorsing my resolution in 2009.
