Issue Position

REDESIGN our state government.

- Consolidation and merging of departments in the state government to reduce staff and eliminate bureaucracy should be our first order of business.

- Transparency is a must if we are to restore faith to our government and its process.

- It is time to end the runaway system of legislative earmarks that exist in Hartford.

- A redesigned state government should focus in on five major areas:

1. Public safety: we need to catch the bad guys and put them in prison, (and by the way- nothing wrong with outsourcing our corrections function, for every 500 prisoners sent out of state, the State of Connecticut could save as much as 11 million dollars).

2. Education.

3. Infrastructure.

4. Economic development.

5. Providing a hand up to those of us less fortunate.
