Issue Position

Water is the life blood of our state. Stephanie has promoted and will continue to fight for the conservation of water, maintaining an environmental flow in all rivers and streams, and balancing use with supply. From rural to urban, Stephanie will work to help New Mexico balance our water usage within each watershed.

Stephanie will also work to develop financing mechanisms for individuals to make their homes and businesses energy efficient or add solar or wind systems to their homes. The state has tried this before but run into roadblocks that can be removed by working together with the interested stakeholders. Stephanie also proposes that once the financing mechanism is worked out, we expand this project to allow major energy efficiency upgrades to also be included. This will help build a green industry and put our construction workers back to work on green jobs.
