I will work with our levee boards, scientific communities, citizen groups, and local governments to protect and restore our coast.

Our coastline is vital to our industries, our jobs and our way of life. This great natural resource has given so much to Louisiana. We need to preserve this treasure for future generations.

I grew up right here in south Louisiana -- and like so many of you -- I have witnessed the coastal erosion that threatens hundreds of thousands of livelihoods. I will do everything I can to protect and preserve our coast.
