Issue Position

Liberal and career politicians -- led by the President, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid -- have spent our nation into record deficits and debt.

In just the first year they jointly held the reins of power in Washington; Pelosi, Obama and Reid tripled -- yes tripled -- our national deficit. They have passed budget after budget that spends too much, taxes too much, and borrows too much.

As we were deeply concerned about our nation's future; my family joined literally hundreds of thousands of others participating in the Tea Party events to raise awareness of our nation's misplaced priorities, irresponsible spending and growing national debt. This madness with Washington spending must stop.

To fight this problem I have endorsed these common sense solutions:

* A balanced budget amendment to the constitution, to force Congress to live within its means

* A new 2/3 vote of the Congress to raise taxes, so that it is more difficult for liberal politicians to keep spending and then just pass the debt onto the taxpayers, our children and grandchildren.

* A push for smaller government that is more responsive to the people and less responsive to special interests.

We need new voices in Congress. We need to take a journey back to our roots. We need people in Washington committed to the Constitution and the traditions that made this Nation great.
