Fleming Comments on Passage of Temporary 'Doc Fix'

Statement

Date: June 25, 2010
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman John Fleming, M.D. released the following statement after the House of Representatives voted yesterday to pass the Senate's "doc fix' legislation that will delay the 21% cut to Medicare reimbursement rates until November 2010:

"The Senate did the right thing in sending the House "doc fix' legislation that has been offset and fully paid for. I am glad Speaker Pelosi decided to follow their lead, and I was happy to support a "doc fix' that does not add to our exploding deficit. Although this legislation keeps Medicare physicians and their patients out of a financial crisis until November, Congress must find a permanent fix so doctors can once again focus on their patients and practices. Republicans remain ready to work with Democrats to finally put an end to this dangerous game that Congress is playing with our Seniors' care."
