Obviously, we have a serious problem in our country. Illegal immigration should be at the forefront of any discussion concerning health care, unemployment, federal aid, the war on drugs, the war on terror, etc. The bottom line is that we have millions of illegal immigrants in this country who have taken jobs that should be held by citizens. Hospitals are forced to give care to illegal immigrants at the expense of the taxpayer. Furthermore, they are also allowed to receive government aid, also at the expense of the taxpayer. Illegal immigrants do not pay a dime in taxes but receive millions of dollars each year from our state and federal governments. This is not only unethical but I believe is unlawful. If someone wants to migrate to this country and go through the legal process, I am all for them. However, when one subverts the system, we must take action. Also, there are those employers who illegally hire workers knowing they are not citizens. So, knowing we have a problem, where exactly do I stand on the issue, and what solutions should we implement?

1. I DO NOT support any type of amnesty for illegal aliens!

2. I believe that we should close our borders. This will not only crack down on illegal aliens but will also aid in the fight against drugs, prostitution, and terrorism. How do we close the borders? I have been to Mexico and watched as the border guards waved car after car across the border into the United States without ever checking a piece of paper. I watched as semi truck after truck crossed without ever being checked. This practice must stop. Everyone coming into this country must show a passport and be subjected to searches of every vehicle. I am also in favor of a border fence, whether electric or physical.

3. Any employer that is caught employing an illegal alien will be punished by fine and imprisonment.

4. Every illegal alien that walks into a hospital or clinic to receive aid must be reported to authorities. Authorities must act swiftly and deport the offender.

I firmly believe that there is an order to which our steps must be taken. First, we have to cut off the flow of illegal immigrants. We have to close and secure our border. Second, we have to make sure that those that are currently here know they will no longer receive government aid or be allowed to work without proper documentation.
