The current federal tax code is too complex and has too many exemptions, setting up loopholes and other inequitable circumstances that hurt America's working families. There is merit in considering entirely changing the method in which federal funds are raised from the nation's people by enacting what is commonly referred to as the "fair" tax, which is sales-based, as opposed to the current basis of income. What places are using the fair tax right now? The Great State of Texas, which has operated for generations without taxing the incomes of its people.
