Capito Statement On Century Aluminum

Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) released the following statement today responding to news that Century Aluminum will close their facility in Ravenswood, WV:

"The Ravenswood plant has been a cornerstone of the Jackson County community for years and today's announcement is sad and difficult news. Everyone involved has worked diligently to find possible solutions that might prevent this from happening, but the market has left few options.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the employees, and I stand ready to assist them in any way possible as they look for new work and new opportunities.

"West Virginians have always stood together to support each other, and I have no doubt that our state will stand beside our fellow citizens in these difficult times."
