Remembering Sylvia Clark
DENVER, CO - U.S. Representative Diana DeGette (D-CO) released the following statement on the death of Sylvia Clark, former president of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains:
"Sylvia Clark was a dear friend and a stalwart leader who will be sorely missed. As a crusader for women's healthcare in Colorado and president of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, she has left an enduring mark on our state that has bettered the lives of thousands of our daughters, sisters and mothers.
I got to know Sylvia well when she was president of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and I served on the organization's board of directors. Her passionate defense of people's right to make decisions in their own best interests and dedication to expanding women's access to family planning and reproductive health care has been an inspiration for my career.
All of us who believe the mission of Planned Parenthood and the reproductive choice movement have suffered a great loss with the passing of our dear and devoted colleague."
