Congressman Jerry Moran yesterday visited the communities of Blue Rapids, Marysville and Hanover in north central Kansas to visit local businesses and talk with community members.
In Marysville, Moran attended the Rotary club meeting and stopped at the Marysville Advocate, a 122 year-old community newspaper. Moran's community visit to Blue Rapids included a stop into the State Bank, Yungeberg Drug, the Post Office, Napa Auto Parts and several city offices. In Hanover, he visited Citizens State Bank, Hanover Professional Pharmacy, the Post Office, Hanover Hospital, Andy's Hardware and Lumber, Crome's Market, Blue Valley Insurance and Rural Water District #1. Each visit allowed discussions with local residents on current issues and gave Moran an opportunity to provide an update on activities in Congress.
"Visiting with so many local residents just reinforces my belief that Congress must immediately take up a comprehensive energy plan to assist those families I've been having conversations with who are struggling with gas prices," Moran said. "Spending time in Kansas communities gives me the opportunity to meet directly with the people I represent and gain a better understanding of their views and the ways in which I can better serve them in Washington, D.C."
