Congressman Jerry Moran delivered the following statement upon news reports of a potential federal lawsuit that is to be filed today by the Texas Biological and Agro-Defense Consortium regarding the site selection process that chose Kansas for the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF).
"A thorough and fair process by DHS concluded that Kansas State University is the best location for NBAF," Moran said. "Kansas is clearly recognized to have the infrastructure, the knowledge and the commitment to ensure that NBAF's mission is fulfilled. To keep America's food supply safe and our agricultural economy strong, this critical animal disease research must move forward."
Moran is on the House Committee of Agriculture and is a member of the NBAF Task Force.
