Statement by Sara Feigenholtz regarding today's slate making session

"I'm taking my campaign directly to the voters of the 5th Congressional District, which is why I'm spending the day with my volunteers and reaching out to voters. I believe at this point in Illinois history we need a completely open and transparent process in this race. That's why I supported a special election for President-elect Obama's Senate seat, but party leaders refused to give voters that opportunity. The best way to fill these seats and provide real representation is to let the people - not party insiders - decide."

"Today, I'm talking to voters about my record of fighting for families, bringing people together to get things done and my intent to work with President-elect Obama to build support for his economic recovery plan that the people of Illinois so desperately need. And I'm going to work every day leading up to the March 3rd primary to earn both their vote and their trust."
