Capito Statement on Obama Housing Plan

Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., released the following statement today in response to President Obama's announced proposals for addressing the nation's housing crisis:

"In many ways, the housing crisis is at the root of our economic challenges and I was pleased to see the President outline his proposals to help those truly in need," said Capito, the ranking Republican on the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing and Community Opportunity.

"I look forward to working with the administration to tackle this critical issue and I'm hopeful to see true bipartisan cooperation on an issue that impacts Republicans and Democrats alike. It's important that we find a way to support families facing foreclosure, without rewarding many of the bad actors who helped create this crisis."
