Sen. Bennet's Statement on Attorney General Nominee Eric Holder

United States Senator Michael Bennet issued the following statement today regarding the Senate's confirmation of Eric Holder to serve as Attorney General of the United States by a vote of 75 to 21:

"Eric Holder is an exceptional candidate for Attorney General and I am proud to support his nomination. As our nation's top law enforcement official, Mr. Holder will be responsible for upholding the rule of law and defending the common good. But he will also face the difficult task of cleaning up the Justice Department and restoring the public's confidence in its ability to operate free from the influence of politics or ideology.

"A difficult job awaits Mr. Holder, but I believe his experience and integrity will serve him well in his new role."
