RISCH OPPOSES SENATE BAILOUT BILL

Joins Senator Mike Crapo in Opposing Legislation

U.S. Senate candidate Jim Risch says he would not have voted for the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act as it was presented to the U.S. Senate.

"This bill doesn't do enough to protect the taxpayers. Congress must to better. While we are in crisis, a rush to pass bad legislation is not the answer," said Risch. "We need more protection and it is time to seek out those who broke the law and our trust and hold them accountable."

Jim Risch attended the U.S. Senate Banking Committee hearings and met with U.S. Senate leaders about this issue last week in Washington D.C. "This is a tough vote. I applaud Senator Crapo for taking a stand on behalf of the taxpayers and voting ‘no.' He did the right thing," added Risch.
