With many in the baby boom generation set to retire in the next few years, Social Security and other retirement plans will face strains like never before. I believe that some modifications to Social Security are necessary to keep the program solvent and able to provide retired Americans with the benefits they have earned. I support proposals to fully fund Social Security and will strongly oppose attempts to privatize the program. Furthermore, as a Member of the House Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions, I will work to protect and strengthen the pension plans of America's workers.
Eastern Connecticut is home to thousands of retirees and elderly residents. I value the opportunity I have to protect their interests in Congress and will continue to work hard to advocate on their behalf.
