Issue Position: Agriculture

I am committed to family farms, ranches and rural communities. Agriculture is the cornerstone of the ND economy. My values were shaped by my childhood growing up on a grain and dairy farm in Edgeley, N.D.

As Governor I will:

* Give farmers a greater role in the ownership and production of wind energy.

* Assist in helping build and open up new markets for exports.

* Assist farm cooperatives in staying viable and profitable.

* Address the high cost of energy by increasing investment in biofuel

* Work with farmers and ranchers in maintaining a strategic supply of fuel.
